Your News — and Online SubscriptionsMondays through Fridays I select and post the top four stories of the day in North America, the UK and India that impact the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries’ reputation. These posts are intended for communications professionals tracking the enivronment their organizations must navigate. Since launching RS Snapshot, more news outlets, especially those in the UK, are requiring paid subscriptions. The Financial Times and the Times of London are two examples. I have been avoiding these publications to make it easier for subscribers to “click and go” to the articles posted. Beginning today, I am changing this policy. These publications are thought leaders. Their news is important to you in gauging the public opinion trends impacting your business. If your are in communications, your company ought, already, to be covering your subscriptions to these media outlets. Today I have included an article from the Financial Times on a rebuke to the Federal Trade Commission for overreaching their authority in a ‘pay for delay’ case. This is important news, if only because such a decision is rare. Not every post will require a subscription on your part, but I believe that for RS Snapshot to deliver on our promise, we need this policy change. That said, in the coming weeks please let me know which approach is most helpful to you. Leave a Reply |
